Mario Massaccesi, the host of Cuestión de Peso, came out swinging against the media and aimed directly at his journalism colleagues. Without mincing words, he labeled them as “abusers and mistreaters.” The El Trece host is fed up with what he considers undignified treatment of participants on television programs, and this time he didn’t stay silent.
In an explosive interview, Massaccesi said that many hosts and media producers “think they own the truth” and that they “mistreat people who dare to tell their stories.” According to him, ratings do not justify running over people. “There is a constant abuse of power. They take everything from you, expose you, and then leave you stranded,” he fired off.
The host, who has been leading the weight-loss help show for years, assured that his program is different because it “cares for participants and respects them.” And he concluded: “It’s not difficult. It’s a matter of having a little empathy and not being a son of a bitch.”
Massaccesi did not name names, but made it clear that his finger points to several prominent figures on the small screen. “There are many who talk a lot about solidarity, but then on set they do whatever they want,” he stated.
The statements have already caused a stir in the industry. Several colleagues came out to defend their work, while others supported the Cuestión de Peso host. The fact is that Massaccesi hit a sore spot on a topic that many prefer not to touch: media mistreatment.
For now, the host remains firm in his stance and does not plan to retract. “If anyone feels targeted, welcome. Let them reflect,” he closed.
