Declining registrations: the automotive market in the first half
Between January and June 2026, 294,181 0km vehicles were registered in Argentina, 9.9% less than in the same period of 2025, when 326,549 units were recorded, according to data from the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (Acara). The decline, attributed to excess stock and demand uncertainty, led automakers to strengthen their commercial strategies.
Sebastián Beato, president of Acara, noted that the sector is going through a readjustment and that signs of recovery are observed, although customers continue to postpone decisions waiting for better rates or new financing options. June figures showed an improvement compared to May, according to the executive.

It is advisable to monitor the evolution of registrations during July and August to confirm whether the bonuses manage to reverse the negative trend. It is also worth watching whether other brands join the discounts and whether financing rates support the recovery anticipated by Acara.
