Camila Morrone se quebró en llanto tras el triunfo de Argentina: “No lo puedo creer”

Like any Argentine scattered around the world, Camila Morrone was swept up by World Cup fever. The actress, who does not hide her fanaticism for Lionel Messi and the Scaloneta, watched the semifinal match between Argentina and England from a typical cantina in New York. And when Lautaro Martínez scored the goal that put the national team into the final, she could not hold back the tears. She broke down, literally.

In a video she posted on Instagram that has already gone viral, Morrone is seen with teary eyes, a choked voice, and a scream that comes from the soul: «What a goal!» Then, between sobs, she lets out an «I can’t believe it» that sums up what any Argentine in that bar named Graciela was feeling. Her boyfriend, Cole Bennett, hugs her and joins the collective madness.

«It’s a feeling,» the actress wrote in the post, accompanied by crying emojis. And with a touch of humor, she added: «What did I say? See you in the final.» The post includes photos of her and her boyfriend wearing the albiceleste jersey walking the streets of the Big Apple, and a video where both sing loudly the famous «Ohhh, Argentina, it’s a feeling, I can’t stop.»

Morrone, who was born in Los Angeles but feels Argentine through her roots, had already shown her World Cup passion before. After the match against Jordan, which Argentina won 3-1, she wrote: «The pride I have of being Argentine will never be understood!» And on that occasion, she also shared a photo of Messi before entering the field.

The actress confessed that her dream was to see Messi in person during a World Cup, and she fulfilled it: «Dream come true to see Messi in person (score a goal) at the World Cup,» she said. But she still needs a photo with the captain. In an interview on the Today show, she said her goal is to «locate Messi» and take a selfie, even if it’s in the background. «I’m just trying to get into the locker room,» she joked.

Now, with the national team in the final against Spain, Morrone renews her hope. Will she fulfill her wish next Sunday? Meanwhile, her tears of emotion are already the reflection of an entire country dreaming of the fourth star.
