DUDAS DE SCALONI: El once de Argentina para la semifinal contra Inglaterra, en vilo hasta último momento

The dream of an entire country is at stake. This Wednesday, the Argentine National Team will play for a spot in the 2026 World Cup final against England at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Lionel Scaloni, the world champion coach, knows it: there is no room for error. That is why, as he already announced in a press conference, he will wait until the last moment to define the starting eleven. «The one who is best will play,» he stated, unleashing uncertainty among fans.

The doubts are not minor. At right back, the battle between Nahuel Molina Lucero and Gonzalo Montiel remains open. Neither is in their best moment: Molina has lost the explosiveness that made him a starter in Qatar, while Montiel, the hero of the final against France, has not managed to consolidate himself at his club. Who will be chosen to contain the fast English wingers?

But the biggest mystery is in midfield. Rodrigo De Paul, Lionel Messi’s sidekick on and off the field, could be left out of the starting lineup. His poor performance in recent matches has raised alarms. In his place, Nicolás González and Giuliano Simeone are emerging. The former provides width and speed; the latter, youth and sacrifice. Scaloni is evaluating whether to risk a tactical change or maintain the structure that has given him results.

The rest of the team seems defined: Emiliano Martínez in goal; Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martínez in central defense; Nicolás Tagliafico at left back; Leandro Paredes, Enzo Fernández, and Alexis Mac Allister in midfield; and the attacking duo of Lionel Messi and Julián Álvarez. However, the coach could surprise with a last-minute variation.

On the other side, England arrives with a solid team, led by Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. But Argentina trusts its history and the mystique of the Scaloneta. The match kicks off at 4 PM (Argentine time) and promises to be a true inferno. The winner will face Spain in the grand final, after the Iberians eliminated favorites France, with Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé biting the dust.

Meanwhile, the entire country comes to a standstill. The streets are empty, the bars are packed. Only Scaloni’s decision remains to be seen. Will he keep the core or make changes? The answer, in a few hours.

¡DALE ARGENTINA CARAJO!
