The ‘Scaloneta’ of motorsport is falling apart, folks! At the Austrian GP, Franco Colapinto and his teammate Pierre Gasly had a weekend to forget. The Argentine finished 15th and the Frenchman 13th, but the worst part was the disappointment left by the Alpine’s performance. Don’t tell me!
At the start, Colapinto lost several positions and never recovered. The car wasn’t responding, and the 21-year-old didn’t hide his frustration: «The car had no pace, we couldn’t fight anyone. It’s a shame because we had worked well in qualifying.» This is madness! We were coming off a couple of good races and now this.
Gasly didn’t escape criticism either. The Frenchman, usually more experienced, was also left bewildered: «We don’t understand what happened. The setup didn’t work and we paid the price.» But here the important thing is Colapinto, the kid who inspires all of Argentina. What happened with the Alpine? Why was it so bad?
The team didn’t give clear explanations. Some say it was a strategy problem, others that the car couldn’t do more. But the truth is that the ‘Scaloneta’ of motorsport needs an urgent reaction. Come on Franco, this is just the beginning! Don’t give up, the next one will be ours.
