Yolanda is 105 years old and has only one dream: to meet Lionel Messi. The woman, who lives in Argentina, became the oldest fan of the National Team and her story went viral after several TV shows broadcast her request. «I adore him with all my soul,» she says without hesitation.
A football fan since she was young, Yolanda claims to have watched every World Cup, but confesses that nothing has been the same since Messi appeared. «I used to watch all the World Cups and didn’t pay attention. But since I met Messi, I haven’t missed a single one. I love him because he is a good man, a good father,» she said in an interview with eltrece.
What surprises most about Yolanda is her vitality. When asked how she manages to reach 105 years, she responds with humor: «A bit of everything: raw ham, french fries, grilled meat, stew, noodles, tortillas, shepherd’s pie, all those things. I used to go to my sister’s house and every night we had a little whiskey on the rocks.»
In another interview, this time with the show Cortá por Lozano (Telefe), Yolanda left a message full of affection for the Argentine captain. «I adore you with all my soul. I love you, Messi. How I wish I could see you. Now I’ll settle for the jersey. Pretend I’m your grandmother,» she joked. Also, as a true fan of La Pulga, she recalled that his favorite food is his mother Celia’s milanesas, so she promised him that if he ever visits, she will also cook homemade milanesas for him.
Yolanda has an Instagram account (@abue_yoli) managed by her granddaughter, where she shares her daily life and already has over three thousand followers.
