Scandal in Casa Rosada: Adorni's Right-Hand Woman Confessed She Tried to Buy a Smart TV with Her Card

Escándalo en Casa Rosada: la mano derecha de Adorni confesó que intentó comprar un Smart TV con su tarjeta

In a statement that shakes the foundations of Casa Rosada, Laura Schiuma, the official who lent her credit card to former presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni, revealed that not only was a gaming monitor purchased: she also tried to buy a Smart TV and other items, but the transactions were rejected.

Schiuma, now General Director of Presidential Activities, testified yesterday before prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita and provided details on how the then Chief of Staff used her card to make personal purchases without leaving a trace in his name. According to the witness, it all began last August, when Adorni asked for her Mastercard details to make a purchase of 2.2 million pesos. She agreed without knowing what he was going to buy. The result: a Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 4K 27-inch gaming monitor, valued at $2,184,999.05.

But that’s not all. The card statement showed other purchase attempts, including a Smart TV, which were rejected by the bank. Schiuma said it was the only time she lent her card and that she does not keep messages about the transaction. Adorni reimbursed her in cash when the statement arrived.

The official said she entered public administration through a direct call from Adorni, who needed «trusted people.» They had known each other for 16 years, when they worked together at an agency of the Plan Rombo-Renault. There, according to Schiuma, Adorni was the «right-hand man» of the owner.

Investigators suspect that the former official asked for the card so as not to appear as the holder of the expenses. At that time, his monthly salary was 3.5 million pesos, more than enough to afford the monitor without needing to use someone else’s card.

But the modus operandi was not limited to Schiuma. Adorni also allegedly used the cards of another official, Luis Enrique Aluju, to buy two Epson Home Cinema 2350 4K Pro-UHD projectors with Android TV, each at $1,831,795. The purchases were made on August 13, 2025, with a VISA and an American Express in Aluju’s name, who was the Government Information Coordinator and very close to Adorni. Sources at Casa Rosada say Aluju even had an extension of a credit card belonging to the former Chief of Staff.

Additionally, official Gisela Kocsis appeared as the buyer of box springs and white linens for $8,183,383, in cash, on June 2 last year. The invoice was found on the phone of Matías Tabar, the contractor who remodeled Adorni’s house in the Indio Cua country club. On that same cell phone, the prosecutor’s office found audios where Adorni coordinated with Tabar what he was going to say in court. «I’ll give you all the support, as I did with everyone,» the then Chief of Staff is heard saying.

So far, Aluju and Kocsis have not testified, but they are expected to do so in the coming days. The case, which investigates Adorni’s assets, promises new explosive chapters.
