The Casa Rosada has turned into a boxing ring, and the new presidential spokesman, Adrián Ravier, hasn’t even stepped into the ring yet. The economist and national deputy for La Pampa was chosen by Javier Milei to replace the controversial Manuel Adorni, but he already has two heavyweights against him: Adorni himself, who clings to the Chief of Cabinet position, and Karina Milei, the all-powerful Secretary General of the Presidency.
According to information gathered by El Sereno, Milei’s move is part of a strategy to relaunch his administration ahead of 2027. Ravier, a faithful exponent of the Austrian school, must instill in society a discourse of «greatness» that, for now, is not reflected in the polls. The head of state is on the decline due to the economic slowdown and the Adorni scandal, which has been accumulating complaints of alleged illicit enrichment since March.
But the new spokesman will not have it easy. Adorni, who resists as Chief of Cabinet despite the investigations, is already maneuvering to have Ravier placed under the orbit of the Chief of Cabinet, specifically under the Secretary of Press, Javier Lanari, a loyal soldier of the investigated official. Karina, for her part, looks unfavorably on Ravier reporting directly to the President, which diminishes her power.
Ravier is warned and plans to counterattack. His proposal is clear: report directly to Milei, without intermediaries, to move freely among ministers, as Adorni did when he was just a spokesman. The problem is that the internal conflict is red-hot. Javier Milei no longer calls his sister «El Jefe,» officials flee from Adorni, and Santiago Caputo, the presidential advisor, needles Karina whenever he can.
Milei himself, in 2018, had said that Ravier «lacks the mental speed to debate on TV.» However, he ended up writing a book with him and now puts him in charge of presidential communications. The bet is that the economist can explain the Austrian program and win back voters who left due to the Adorni case.
But the scenario is very different from December 2023. Now there are layoffs, business closures, and wage cuts that generate social unrest. Moreover, the palace power struggle is irresolvable. The only thing celebrated in the press office is Adorni’s departure, who cut their salaries and changed their working conditions without reason.
Ravier will give his first press conference this week. The accredited press expects him to change the arbitrary work rules imposed by Adorni, which virtually lock journalists in the Decano Roberto Di Sandro Room. Meanwhile, Adorni is entrenched in the Chief of Cabinet office, with the sole support of Milei, who will resist any attempt by Congress or the Judiciary to remove him. The question is what will happen if federal judge Ariel Lijo prosecutes him for illicit enrichment. For now, the ring remains hot.

Para mí estos fachos de mierda ya se están agarrando a las piñas antes de arrancar. Ravier es un lacayo de Milei, pero Adorni, el chorro ese, y Karina lo van a devorar. Ojalá se destruyan entre todos, así nos dejamos de hinchar las bolas con estos gorilas.
