¡Sacudón en Casa Rosada! Jura Santilli, llega Ravier y Milei cancela Paraguay para relanzar su gobierno

A dizzying Tuesday at Casa Rosada. After the resignation of Manuel Adorni, President Javier Milei made a decision that shook the agenda: he canceled the trip to Paraguay for the Mercosur summit and stayed in Buenos Aires to lead the relaunch of his administration. The three axes of the day are the swearing-in of Diego Santilli as new Chief of Staff, the first press conference of spokesperson Adrián Ravier, and the transition meeting between outgoing Adorni and designated Santilli.

At 11 a.m., Ravier stands before the microphones in the press room at Balcarce 50. There is enormous expectation to see how Adorni’s successor performs, who earned the respect of friends and foes alike for his cool and sharp tone. But that style is now history: Ravier comes to turn the page, to show a more institutional and less confrontational communication. Accredited journalists await news on the work restrictions still in place at the Rosada.

In parallel, the transition meeting between Adorni and Santilli is being prepared. The former Interior Minister becomes the fourth Chief of Staff in two and a half years of Milei’s administration. His task will be to coordinate ministers and, above all, build bridges with allied and dialoguing governors, with whom he has already built a trust relationship during his time at the political portfolio. That harmony will be key for the reforms to come: the Super RIGI, the law on inviolability of private property, and the electoral reform, on which La Libertad Avanza’s strategy for 2027 depends.

At 5:30 p.m., in the White Room, Santilli takes the oath before the entire cabinet and the top violet brass: the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and presidential advisor Santiago Caputo. None of the heavyweights will be missing, except for Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, who is in Paraguay representing the country at Mercosur. Also taking office as Deputy Chief of Staff is Ignacio Devitt, until now Secretary of Strategic Affairs and one of the main links with Congress.

On Wednesday, the political table is completed with a parliamentary strategy meeting at Casa Rosada. Milei, Santilli, Devitt, and others will receive deputies and senators from La Libertad Avanza. Present will be the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, and the Senate bloc leader, Patricia Bullrich, who celebrated the change in the Chief of Staff position. Hot months lie ahead in Congress, and the ruling party needs to oil the gears so that reforms do not sink.

The relaunch is a fact. Milei bets on a new communication team and a Chief of Staff with a political profile to unblock the legislative agenda. The question is whether it will be enough to cover up the patrimonial scandals surrounding Adorni and the internal criticism Santilli received. For now, Tuesday is the day of change: the Rosada prepares to welcome the former minister’s new trusted teams, while the president glances at the clock and thinks about the reforms to come.
