El médico que revoluciona la longevidad: "Hay tres preguntas clave para ordenar la alimentación"

Sebastián La Rosa, a physician specialized in longevity and Honorary Doctor, arrived in Argentina to shake up beliefs about diet and aging. With a legion of 6 million subscribers on YouTube and an artificial intelligence platform called Pulso AI, this expert assures that the key to living longer is not in extreme diets or magic supplements, but in answering three fundamental questions: what to eat, when, and how much.

La Rosa is no amateur. His training includes homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, and studies in Asia, but today he bets on scientific evidence. «My specialty is the best possible expression of health,» he says, and argues that the goal is to preserve the optimal functioning of each organ in a sustainable way. His personal history marked him: as a child he suffered a restrictive macrobiotic diet that caused nutritional deficiencies. «In my family they marked me for doing things wrong,» he confesses, and that led him to seek a repair that he now shares with millions.

On his tour of the country — he has already been through Buenos Aires, Jujuy, Salta, and Tucumán, and in August he will be in Rosario, Córdoba, and Santa Fe — La Rosa presents his talk «The 5 habits to live longer.» But he warns: they are not habits, but deep changes. The axes are diet, exercise (with two key aspects), sleep, and personalization. «Personalization is the most difficult because the same thing doesn’t work for everyone,» he explains.

Regarding diet, the specialist is emphatic: the Mediterranean diet has the most scientific support, but with five modifications: reduce dairy, moderate whole grains, prioritize fish and seafood, increase legumes, and incorporate mushrooms. He also criticizes fads like veganism in children, which can cause deficiencies. «You have to ask yourself what, when, and how much. The same plate at 10 in the morning does not have the same metabolic impact as at midnight,» he details.

Sleep is another pillar. La Rosa assures that improving sleep quality generates a domino effect: «It influences mood, food decisions, and increases the likelihood of exercising.» And about movement, he is blunt: «To reach old age well, you have to increase aerobic capacity and muscle strength. The most useful thing is to do the activity that can be sustained over time.»

The impact of ultra-processed foods is also in the spotlight. La Rosa suggests that the problem is not only consumption, but the timing. «Eating ultra-processed foods at night is worse than in the morning,» he says, and suggests rearranging schedules as a first step. «I’m not telling someone to eat something else. I’m telling them: eat it at 10 in the morning and not at 12 at night,» he exemplifies.

With an approach that mixes science, controversy, and a touch of showmanship, La Rosa is consolidating himself as a disruptive voice in the world of health. His message is clear: living longer is not just a matter of years, but of quality. «No one wants to live 100 years bedridden. What we seek is to buy quality time,» he states.
