¡Revolución en WhatsApp! Llega Muse Image, la IA que te deja crear y editar fotos sin moverte del chat

Meta is shaking up the tech landscape again with the launch of Muse Image, its new artificial intelligence model that promises to forever change how we share images on WhatsApp and Instagram. The tool, officially announced by the company on its blog, allows users to create and modify photos directly from the apps, without needing external programs.

According to Meta, Muse Image understands natural language instructions. This means anyone can ask the AI to generate an image by describing it in words, and the system will create it instantly. But it doesn’t stop there: it also allows editing existing photos, combining them, and even drawing on them to indicate precise changes.

One of the most striking features is the ability to mention another user with an @ to incorporate their profile picture into the generated image. Of course, only if that person hasn’t activated protection to prevent their content from being reused. It all sounds great, but it also raises questions about privacy and consent.

Additionally, Muse Image includes a panel with suggested instructions, ideal for those who feel lost when facing artificial intelligence. Want to turn your photo into a 16-bit video game character? The tool does it in seconds.

The big difference from other image generators is that Muse Image is natively integrated into WhatsApp and Instagram. On Instagram, it brings over 30 AI effects for stories. On WhatsApp, it works directly within chats through Meta AI. In other words, you no longer need to leave the conversation to create a custom image.

Muse Image arrives after Muse Spark, a previous Meta AI update that improved context understanding. And before that, the company had introduced Emu at Meta Connect 2023, which already allowed generating images and stickers, and later added video. Now, with Muse Image, the bet is on more precise editing and deeper integration.

Meta also confirmed that it will open its AI models to external developers through cloud services. This could further accelerate the adoption of these tools.

The problem? While AI advances, alerts about identity theft are growing. WhatsApp has already added usernames to combat scams, but with Muse Image, anyone could generate a photo of you without permission. For now, the mention feature only uses public profile images, but the debate is on.

In a country where technology moves at a snail’s pace but the desire to innovate is strong, Muse Image arrives as a breath of fresh air. Or as a storm, depending on how you look at it. The fact is that artificial intelligence is already in our pockets, and Meta has no plans to stop.
