Scaloni's modest home in Mallorca: the World Cup-winning coach's refuge before the final

Hours before the 2026 World Cup final against Spain, the Argentine coach's house in Calvià shows its low profile: pool, gallery, and a life away from luxury. The home where he built his family while his heart remains in Pujato.

La casa sin lujos de Scaloni en Mallorca: el refugio del DT campeón del mundo antes de la final

Lionel Scaloni is about to write another golden page in the history of Argentine football. This Sunday, the national team faces Spain in the 2026 World Cup final, with a chance to repeat the feat of Qatar. But while the world watches the match, there is a detail few know: the house where the coach lives in Mallorca, far from the noise and the spotlight.

The property is in Calvià, southwest of the island, near El Toro beach and Puerto Adriano marina. It is a residential area chosen by those seeking privacy and contact with the sea, without the tourist bustle of Palma. The house, Mediterranean style, has two floors and is designed to enjoy the outdoors. A rectangular pool dominates the patio, surrounded by a solarium and light-colored floors. There is a covered gallery that serves as an outdoor dining room, ideal for the island climate.

Far from the ostentatious mansions that often surround football figures, the home reflects the coach’s personality: no eccentricities, low profile, family-oriented. That same mystique that built the Scaloneta, based on hard work and humility, is seen in every corner of his home.

Scaloni lives there with his wife, Elisa Montero, born in Mallorca, and their two children, Ian and Noah. The love story began in 2009, when he played for the island’s club and met her at a restaurant. They later lived in Rome, where Ian was born in 2012, and then moved to Palma, where Noah was born two years later. Finally, they settled in Calvià.

The location is no coincidence: from Mallorca, Scaloni keeps in touch with Argentine footballers playing in the top European leagues. But his duties force him to travel constantly to Buenos Aires and other destinations. Between matches, Pujato, his hometown in Santa Fe, remains his emotional refuge. He returns there whenever he can, to visit his family and reconnect with his roots. Even after winning the World Cup in Qatar, he spent the holidays in Pujato before returning to Mallorca, where hundreds of Argentines awaited him at the airport.

Elisa, according to Scaloni himself, is very family-oriented and feels comfortable every time they travel to Argentina. In that constant back-and-forth, the house in Calvià is the balancing point between two worlds: the European one, where he built his professional life, and the Argentine one, which beats in his heart. While the national team plays for the title, the coach knows that, whatever happens, he has a home to take refuge in.
