Argentine television exploded this Wednesday with a lethal combination: the national team’s victory and a surprise Gran Hermano gala that eliminated a contestant. Telefe, which had just crushed with the match against England (40.7 points), decided to extend the night with a special episode of the reality show that averaged 10.1 rating points, according to Ibope’s new metrics.
Host Santiago del Moro surprised viewers by announcing an extra elimination midweek, breaking the Monday tradition. The move responds to the need to start trimming the roster ahead of the mid-September finale. Sixteen contestants still have a chance to win the game, and alliances are being reshuffled after the departures of Andrea del Boca and Manuel Íbero.
Tuesday’s positive nomination board left all contestants at the mercy of the public. Luana Fernández, Juanicar, Tamara Paganini, Cinzia Francischiello, Charlotte Caniggia, Emanuel Di Gioia, Jennifer Pincoya Galvarini, Sol, Yipio, Yanina Zilli, and Campanita were the most voted. Ultimately, the public decided that Juan Carlos López, alias JC, should leave the house, leaving Alejandra Majluf, Matías Hanssen, Sebastián Cola, and Mariela Prieto on the brink of elimination.
The night began with Pasapalabra leading at 9.2 points, followed by Guido Kaczka’s new show on El Trece, which averaged 8.3 points. LAM remained third with 4 points, and Bendita followed with 3.4. But after 10:30 PM, Gran Hermano started with a floor of 9.5 points and climbed to a peak of 10.1, consolidating itself as the most-watched in the time slot.
The nominations left a hot board: Emanuel, Yipio, Cola, Sol, Zilli, and Hanssen are at the mercy of the Supreme’s vote. Next Monday, one of them will leave the house. Meanwhile, on El Trece, Mario Pergolini welcomed Mora Godoy, and his show «Otro día perdido» remained second with 5.8 points. BTV came third with 2.5, and Bienvenidos a ganar with Hernán Drago reached 1.4.
Part of the ratings went to cable, where TyC Sports broadcast the match between Boca and Sarmiento de Junín for the 2026 Copa Argentina. On open television, the ratings battle remains red-hot, and Gran Hermano is consolidating itself as the reality show of the moment.

Para mí esto es un asco, 10 puntos de rating mientras el pueblo labura y se caga de hambre. Telefe nos distrae con esta bazofia de Gran Hermano mientras los dueños de los medios nos roban el salario. Me parece que los que tienen que rajarse son ellos, no los participantes.
Para mí Telefe la rompió con esos 10,1 puntos de rating, bien merecido por bancarse a los progres de cuarta que quieren censurar el programa. El pueblo quiere show y eliminamos a zurditos, que se vayan a llorar a otro lado. ¡Viva la libertad carajo!
