The situation at the Fate factory is increasingly critical. Not only is there no serious plan of struggle, there is almost none at all. The dates of the union leadership’s initiatives are telling: while workers risk their lives, the leaders seem to look the other way.
On May 18, the first and only General Assembly of the union was called throughout the entire conflict. There, the sale of properties and the improper extension of terms for the union representation at Pirelli were voted on. Alejandro Crespo, general secretary, refused to vote on struggle measures proposed by a sector of those who most support the occupation. Instead, a Meeting was voted on, which took place on May 30. There, without any consultation and despite much criticism, a march was resolved for June 10 at Plaza de Mayo, of little significance. At that same event, a mobilization to La Plata was announced, but without a date. At the time of writing this note, 15 days later, it still has no date.
The “Workers and Families of Fate in Struggle” publicly denounced on Thursday the 18th movements in the criminal case, when a rally was held at the Prosecutor’s Office. The most serious news is the change in position of the Court of Appeals regarding the eviction request filed by the company. According to reports, the judges held that the circumstances of the conflict changed after the end of the mandatory conciliation, enabling the intervening court to reassess the possibility of ordering an eviction. For now, the court rejected the eviction, but new appeals or filings by the company that force a new intervention by the Court are not ruled out.
Faced with this serious event, an activity was called for Saturday and a solidarity campaign. The company obviously appealed the ruling and now the decision is in the hands of the Court. The workers and families of Fate in Struggle, together with the Coordination Board of the Northern Zone, called for an emergency meeting on Wednesday the 24th. There, a broad and united day of struggle was discussed for this Tuesday, June 30, starting from Fate at 6 p.m., which we believe Sutna’s leadership should participate in.
The next day, Thursday the 25th, Sutna’s leadership put out a flyer calling a Press Conference, where for the first time they took up this event, which was publicly denounced a week ago, as part of a strong campaign that included videos from different workplaces and support even from other countries. Those of us who sleep on the roofs learned about the measures along with the media.
We hope that at this Conference the leadership announces serious struggle measures, beyond whether they were decided by the general secretary or in some “private” meeting. The march to La Plata has been announced for 15 days now, but without a date. But much more is needed if we want to prevent eviction and impose reopening. We cannot continue with this policy. A serious plan of struggle. We are in time, but we do not have all the time in the world. Down with the threat of eviction. Defeat the lock-out, reopening now.
The workers of Fate will be in the front row and in unity, despite these increasingly sharp criticisms and differences, to carry out the measures that are taken, which we demand be serious and forceful. Because it is about doing everything possible to defeat Madanes. Nothing more and nothing less. We hope with all our strength that what is announced goes in this direction.

Para mí esto es un curro de siempre. Fate es propiedad privada, si no pagan que los rajen ya. Estos zurdos vagonetas viven de arriba, laburen o afuera. SUTNA dormida? Mejor, que se la banquen. El país no para por ñoquis. Viva la libertad carajo!
