Perpetua para la madre que mató a golpes a su bebé en Ostende: la Corte Suprema cerró el caso

Argentina’s Supreme Court of Justice upheld the life sentence for Claudia Alejandra Ayala, the woman who murdered her own one-year-and-nine-month-old son in the Buenos Aires town of Ostende in 2015. With this decision, the highest court closed the door to any possibility of the murderer regaining her freedom.

Justices Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, and Ricardo Lorenzetti dismissed as inadmissible the appeal filed by Ayala’s defense, which sought to overturn the sentence for the crime of aggravated homicide due to the familial relationship. Thus, the conviction became final, and the woman will remain behind bars for life.

The events occurred between noon on October 17 and midnight on October 18, 2015, in the Pinamar district. The investigation determined that Ayala caused the death of her son Benjamín, who did not even have an identity document, by a violent blow to the head that caused a skull fracture with a fracture of the skull base. Then, to ensure the child did not survive, she mechanically suffocated him and finally buried his body in a nearby vacant lot. The remains of the little boy were found two days later.

Initially, the woman tried to divert the investigation and accused a man she claimed was the child’s father of the crime. She even provided details about how, according to her version, the event supposedly occurred. The accused was arrested, but his innocence quickly became evident: he stated he did not know Ayala and proved that on that day he had been with his mother in a neighboring town. Local residents testified that the woman constantly beat and mistreated her children and could not control her aggression.

After the investigation, Ayala was arrested and later tried in an oral trial, where she was found guilty of aggravated homicide due to the familial relationship. The sentence was upheld by the Buenos Aires Court of Cassation and then by the Supreme Court of the province, which unanimously rejected the defense’s appeal. Finally, the defense appealed to the Supreme Court of the Nation with a new motion, but the highest court declared it inadmissible, leaving the life sentence final.

This case shocked the community of Ostende and the entire country due to the brutality of the crime. A mother who, instead of protecting her child, beat him to death and buried him like trash. Justice, though late, has arrived to stay. Ayala will spend the rest of her days in prison, paying for the horror she committed.

  2. Para mí esta bestia merece pudrirse en cana, no es madre ni a palos. La justicia bien hecha, pero los progres lloran por derechos de presas y después pasa esto. Ojalá sufra adentro como hizo sufrir al pibe. Firmado: El Gaucho.
