In the final stretch of a family trip through Europe, María Laura “Lala” Bruzoni (48) opened her heart like never before. The founder of the holistic health media outlet TheGelatina spoke without filters about the two years since she separated from journalist Juan Pablo Varsky, with whom she was together for nine years and had her youngest daughter, Lupe, 5.
“For a year and a half I cried every day,” Bruzoni confessed, saying she went through an intense grieving process. “Then I understood quite a bit of what had happened to me. And understanding gave me calm. I’m 48 years old and if genetics are on my side, I probably have another 40 years ahead. I’m much more interested in what I do with that than in continuing to analyze what already happened,” she added.
The communicator, who also holds a degree in Communication, said she is now “very focused” on raising her children, working, and reinventing herself professionally. “For the first time I live alone with them. I work a lot. I redefined my profession, I study, I build. And I enjoy it much more than I imagined,” she noted.
Bruzoni did not avoid the topic of her complaint for alleged sexual abuse against Andrés Freire, former Minister of Modernization of the City of Buenos Aires, a case being processed in the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 13. “It was a difficult decision, but it was also consistent with the values I try to instill in my children. And I learned that the truth doesn’t always simplify your life, but it orders it,” she stated.
The entrepreneur also referred to the challenges of blended families: “A blended family is not an Instagram photo. Real life is worlds coming together, many family systems, many stories, many pains. And also many possibilities.”
Regarding her current relationship with Varsky, she assured that they get along well and that he remains a close person to her children. “Important people don’t disappear just because a relationship changes form,” she said.
Bruzoni also revealed that she is in talks with Somos Gelatina, Pedro Rosemblat’s streaming platform, so that each project can develop from its own place. “I sincerely believe we have much more to contribute than to dispute,” she maintained.
The founder of TheGelatina, which started as a media outlet and became a community, stated that her mission is to help people build a more integral identity. “I help people and brands understand who they are, what they represent, and what place they want to occupy in the world to come,” she explained.
Asked about her dreams, Bruzoni did not hesitate: “Build. Work. Travel. Write. Keep learning. Accompany women and men. Watch my children grow. I have an enormous curiosity for the life ahead.”
