That same day, through a statement released on his social media, Nicolás Occhiato, founder and owner of the streaming channel, announced the decision to «remove all those responsible involved» and stated that «Peña will make the decision to step aside.»
«Florencia Peña is in a position to sue Luzu,» Burlando confirmed when Chiqui asked him about the case. «There was a termination in which Florencia had no will whatsoever,» he immediately added, recalling how the actress experienced the episode that led to her departure. «It was a serious mistake, a serious mistake, but I also think the decision on the part of Luzu and also Nico was a bit hasty because she is a great artist, a good person who made a regrettable error,» he stated.
While acknowledging that Peña was wrong, he highlighted her immediate reaction and explained that she was deeply affected by the episode. «The first thing she did, obviously, was apologize to the family. My disagreement is total. An internal review and a strong sanction are in order because it was an unacceptable error for my way of communicating,» he wrote.
After his initial statement, he shared a new statement expressing the measures that later took effect: «From Luzu TV we deeply regret what happened on air during the program El show del verano. For our channel, the dissemination of sensitive information without proper prior verification is unacceptable. For this reason, the authorities of Luzu TV have made the decision to remove all those responsible involved, and Florencia Peña will make the decision to step aside.
