Bregman Blasts PJ: 'It's Exhausted, Those Who Didn't Vote for Milei Feel Cheated'

FIT deputy Myriam Bregman ruled out any alliance with Peronism, which she considers a 'moderate' force that does not represent an alternative. She also positions herself as a presidential candidate and defends a program of confrontation with economic power.

Bregman fulmina al PJ: 'Está agotado, los que no votaron a Milei se sienten estafados'

While Peronism tries to rebuild bridges with the left, national deputy Myriam Bregman came out swinging and buried any possibility of unity. In an interview, the leader of the Workers’ Left Front (FIT) called the PJ’s overtures “speeches for the gallery” and declared that the Justicialist experience “is practically exhausted.”

“Those who didn’t vote for Milei feel let down by the traditional opposition,” Bregman fired, targeting the main opposition space for not being “on the streets” to confront the government’s austerity. The deputy held nothing back: she said Peronism “won’t transform reality” and that it “endorsed the agreement with the International Monetary Fund” when it was in power.

According to an AtlasIntel report for Bloomberg, Bregman is the second-best rated leader in the country, behind only Patricia Bullrich. That growth is causing concern in a PJ that seeks to prevent the left from stealing votes in the opposition to Javier Milei. But the FIT deputy is not willing to negotiate: “We have very different political projects,” she stated bluntly.

Asked about her potential presidential candidacy, Bregman avoided confirming but hinted that society already places her in that role. “More and more people tell us that we were the ones who confronted the government as it should be done: in Congress, on the streets, and supporting every conflict,” she said. And she added: “When someone tells me ‘we need you as president,’ it expresses something deeper: that a significant part of those who didn’t vote for Milei feels betrayed by Peronism.”

The deputy also defended a government program based on confronting the factors of economic power. She proposed intervening to prevent the closure of companies like Fate, repealing changes to the Glaciers Law, and reviewing the RIGI and the Super RIGI. “We are the only ones willing to affect those interests,” she stressed.

On international politics, Bregman distanced herself from the Hamas group, stating: “I have nothing to do with the politics, methods, or strategy of Hamas.” But at the same time, she again denounced that Israel is committing a “genocide” against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The FIT deputy did not spare criticism of Cristina Kirchner, whom she considers part of the PJ. “If others feel constrained by her, they’ll have to answer for that themselves. What I do see is that no one can explain why they are fighting,” she quipped.

With an increasingly sharp discourse, Bregman positions herself as the toughest voice in the opposition and makes it clear that the left does not intend to be anyone’s “lesser evil.” “We don’t make empty promises. We say from now on what interests need to be affected,” she concluded.

  2. Para mí, Myriam la tiene clarísima. El PJ es un lastre de vendepatrias que negocian con el poder económico, una vergüenza. Milei es un facho, pero Bregman es la única salida: lucha de clases o nada. ¡Vamos con todo, carajo!
