Milei y Villarruel, cara a cara en la vigilia del 9 de Julio: el acto que promete ser una bomba

The internal rift of the ruling party is exposed once again. Javier Milei and Victoria Villarruel will cross paths again, this time at the Vigil for July 9 in Tucumán. Governor Osvaldo Jaldo confirmed that he invited both, despite the confrontation they have maintained since the early months of the administration. «Tucumán excludes no one,» the provincial leader stated, making it clear that the Historic House will witness a new chapter of the libertarian novel.

The immediate precedent is the Flag Day event in Rosario, where both participated but in separate sectors. Now, expectations grow: will they greet each other? Will there be gestures of détente or will the tension be palpable? Meanwhile, the Casa Rosada tries to show unity with Karina Milei’s tour of Misiones, where she launched the LLA School of Leaders alongside Martín Menem. «My great goal is for my brother to be reelected in 2027,» the secretary general let slip, making it clear that the political project goes beyond internal disputes.

But the backdrop is not minor. The government faces a cascade of complaints and scandals. Judge Ariel Lijo imposed restrictions on the former chief of staff for alleged illicit enrichment. In parallel, Judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi removed the plaintiffs from the $LIBRA case, a decision that directly benefits the president and others investigated in the crypto scam. The magistrate’s wife, Ana Juan, was proposed as a judge by Milei, raising suspicions of favoritism.

Meanwhile, the austerity measures give no respite. The Argentine Postal Service suffers a dismantling: closure of 300 branches, 6,000 voluntary retirements, and salaries below 900,000 pesos. They denounce a plan to empty it to pave the way for privatization. Dozens of towns are already without postal service. The microeconomy is also exploding: the number of people unable to pay their debts is at a record high, neighborhood loan sharks proliferate, and companies are increasingly delinquent.

Amid this panorama, Milei is already thinking about 2027. The government is designing the reelection campaign, although in Casa Rosada they know it is impossible to win in the first round. The internal conflict with Villarruel, judicial scandals, and the social crisis mark an uphill path. But the president does not relent: he confirmed trips to Peru and Colombia for the inaugurations of Keiko Fujimori and Abelardo de la Espriella, joining the Latin American right-wing bloc.

The July 9 vigil will undoubtedly be a thermometer of the relationship between the two top leaders of the ruling party. Can they set aside their differences, or will the event become a new battlefield? Everything indicates that the tension is served.

Basuras.
