Plan to Hide Adorni? Readers Denounce Official Move to Avoid Uncomfortable Questions

Readers denounce that the government seeks to hide spokesman Manuel Adorni by appointing a replacement and preparing his jump to a position that exempts him from answering uncomfortable questions. Corruption, the founding fathers, and Argentine medical achievements also appear in the letters.

¿Plan para esconder a Adorni? Lectores denuncian movida oficial para evitar preguntas incómodas

It seems the plan to hide Manuel Adorni has begun successfully. The first stage, already completed, was to appoint a new spokesman; the second, to appoint a new Chief of Staff; and the third, to give him a new position as minister accompanying the President, the only place where he could show his face without having to answer questions that make him uncomfortable. This is what readers who closely follow the ruling party’s moves say.

In another letter, a reader points out: «We Argentines will realize that corruption is being eradicated when the justice system informs the press and public opinion about what is investigated and acted upon, and not the other way around.» A direct criticism of the opacity they denounce in judicial processes.

But not everything is politics. On the occasion of Father’s Day, dozens of emotional greetings arrived. «Congratulations to all fathers in this blessed country, without distinction of race, creed, economic-social situation or other condition,» begins a letter that covers sacrifice, love, and teaching. «You will teach to fly, but they will not fly your flight,» it quotes Saint Teresa of Calcutta, and closes with a tribute to the founding fathers: Manuel Belgrano, San Martín, and many others. «How could we forget Belgrano, who looking with patriotic pity at the Argentine light blue and white sky created our flag!»

Football also has its space: «The national team may retain the title or not; football is unpredictable, but it will always enjoy the recognition of good Argentines, who love football and thank them for the happiness we have felt watching them play.» And they add: «We are still legitimate world champions in football and in other disciplines such as medical sciences.»

There, the author lists Argentine contributions to medicine: cardiovascular surgery (Favaloro, Liotta, Benetti, Kreutzer), peripheral vascular surgery (Parodi), electrophysiology (Rosenbaum), interventional cardiology (Palmaz, De la Fuente), and thoracic surgery (Hurtado Hoyo). «Without Nobel Prizes, yet, but with millions of lives saved with the Argentine medical seal and deserved entry into the history of medicine,» he highlights. And he recalls that it has been 40 years since the first coronary stent implants in the country, performed by Luis de la Fuente and Simon Stertzer, and 60 years since the development of selective catheterization of coronary vessels, with an Argentine specialist as a pioneer outside the US.

The letters reflect a mix of political denunciation, recognition of fathers, and pride in national achievements. Meanwhile, Adorni’s move continues to generate speculation: is it a strategy to avoid public scrutiny or a simple cabinet reshuffle? Readers have their own theory.
