All hell broke loose in the streaming world. Nearly a week after the scandal that shook Luzu TV, when Florencia Peña put her foot in her mouth and said Jorge Messi was seriously ill, Fernando Burlando came out to break the silence and set the stage for a judicial bombshell.
In an explosive interview with DDM (América TV), the actress’s lawyer held nothing back. He said his client has every reason to file a lawsuit against the channel and its owner, Nicolás Occhiato. “The inquiry Florencia made fully enables her to make a claim. Her termination was not carried out in accordance with the rules established in the contract signed by the parties. If they don’t reach an agreement, there will obviously be litigation,” Burlando said, with the firmness of a tank.
Mariana Fabbiani, the host, didn’t waste time and asked if Peña could return to El show del verano, the show she co-hosted with Marley. The answer was a missile: “I think the decisions made were very hasty and radical.” She continued: “People who own media are sometimes like unreachable figures. And when you reach them, they also control time and prudence when they have to say something. In this case, it was instantaneous.”
But the strongest part came later. Burlando described a Florencia Peña who is a wreck: “overwhelmed by pain and anguish.” So much so that the lawyer has to juggle to lift her spirits. “I try to get her to pick herself up, because I really think today Flor is more prejudiced against herself than the drama, the problem, and the people are with her,” he confessed.
And then Guido Zaffora appeared, the journalist who always has a spicy tidbit. He revealed that Occhiato’s first call after the scandal was a disaster. “Occhiato’s first phone call, because they’re not talking now, was a call that surprised Florencia because of its tone and manner,” he revealed. A call that, according to leaks, left the actress feeling “mistreated.”
Burlando, who never shuts up even if paid, finished: “I think that in the face of a tremendous situation that seemed like it would be devastating for everyone, where even the media took a strong stance, they thought the consequences, especially for Florencia, would be different, and that’s why they took a light and imprudent attitude.” In other words, Luzu TV rushed and cut her off without thinking twice.
The scandal started when Peña, live on air, claimed that Jorge Messi was seriously ill. False information that sparked a storm. The actress apologized, but it was too late: Luzu TV fired her from her show. Now, with Burlando leading, the story promises a second judicial chapter.
What will happen? For now, Occhiato and Peña aren’t speaking. And the lawyer has already warned: if there’s no agreement, they’ll go to court. The streaming world is trembling.
