London dresses in white and the elite of world tennis steps onto the most sacred grass. This Monday, Wimbledon 2026 begins, the third Grand Slam of the year, and excitement is already at fever pitch at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. With Jannik Sinner as the world No. 1 and defending champion, the day promises high-voltage spectacle.
The Italian, who feels like a fish in water on grass, will face Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic on Centre Court from 9:30 AM (Argentine time). Sinner arrives with sky-high confidence after lifting the trophy in 2025, and all eyes will be on his deadly backhand. But earlier, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, also the world No. 1 in the women’s rankings, will open the day against Serbian qualifier Teodora Kostović around 11:30 AM. Sabalenka’s power on grass is fearsome, and she promises a crushing debut.
The main course will come later, when seven-time champion Novak Djokovic steps onto Centre Court to face China’s Yibing Wu. The Serbian, a competition animal at Wimbledon, will seek to add another title to his legend. At 37, Djokovic remains the man to beat, and his experience on these stages is a lethal weapon.
On Court 1, from 9:30 AM, local Emma Raducanu, champion of the 2021 US Open, will face Croatian Antonia Ruzic. Then, Croatian Marin Cilic and Russian Daniil Medvedev will stage a duel of veterans. And around 12 PM, the brand-new Roland Garros champion, Russian Mirra Andreeva, will debut against Polish Magda Linette. The 18-year-old arrives euphoric after her title in Paris and wants to keep surprising.
The Argentine legion will also have action from day one. Thiago Tirante faces Hungarian Fabian Marozsan on Court 4 at 9:50 AM, and then Solana Sierra will do the same against another Hungarian, Anna Bondár. On Court 5, from 7 AM, Marco Trungelliti takes on American Martin Damm Jr. Camilo Ugo Carabelli debuts on Court 9 against Spanish Daniel Mérida, while Sebastián Báez will face German Jan-Lennard Struff on Court 14 at 10:10 AM. Finally, Juan Manuel Cerúndolo will play on Court 17 against Spanish Alejandro Davidovich Fokina around 10:30 AM.
Wimbledon 2026 runs until Sunday, July 12, with live broadcast on ESPN and exclusive streaming on Disney+. The cathedral of tennis has its doors open, and the favorites are ready to write a new page of glory.

Firmado: El_Tano_Loco
